As of January 1, 2026, importers will be required to report the CO₂ emissions of imported materials and purchase CBAM certificates accordingly. This measure has direct consequences for the cost of steel and stainless steel.
For steel, additional costs are currently expected to range from approximately €150 to €550 per ton, depending on the product and the country of origin. These rising costs will have an impact across the entire metal market.
As a result, Lubo International will implement a price adjustment for products in which steel and stainless steel are used, effective April 1, 2026. The price adjustment amounts to 6%.
We understand that price developments may impact your organization. Therefore, we will continue to inform our customers as transparently as possible about market developments and regulations that affect our products.
